Wellington is a short flight across the Tasman, and many Muslim families have ties on both sides of it. For six years Aman Islamic Trust has served Wellington from rented rooms. We are raising NZ$1.5 million to buy a permanent masjid and Islamic centre, and we would be grateful for your support from anywhere in Australia.

- Give online by card below. The form charges in New Zealand dollars and your card provider converts it to Australian dollars; some cards add a small foreign transaction fee.
- For a bank transfer, choose an international payment in your banking app and send it to our Kiwibank account using the details on this page.
- If your bank asks for a BSB, use the first six digits of our New Zealand account number. Ask for the payment to be sent in New Zealand dollars.
- Online money transfer services are often cheaper than a bank wire for trans-Tasman payments.
Why a masjid in Wellington needs your help
Our Sunday lectures, Quran classes, youth programmes, Ramadan iftars and Eid prayers all happen in rented rooms that are often full to the walls. A permanent home would give Muslims in New Zealand's capital a lasting place for the five daily prayers and for the next generation. Every gift, large or small, goes to the building fund.
Time difference
New Zealand is usually 2 hours ahead of Sydney and Melbourne, 2 to 3 hours ahead of Brisbane, about two and a half hours ahead of Adelaide, and 4 to 5 hours ahead of Perth. If you call us, please allow for this, or simply email admin@amanislamictrust.com.
Tax
Australian tax deductions generally apply only to gifts to Australian deductible gift recipients (DGRs), so a gift to a New Zealand charity usually cannot be claimed in Australia. Please check with your tax adviser.

How long does a transfer from Australia take?
Most international transfers from Australian banks arrive within one to three business days. Online transfer services are often faster.
Can I give in Australian dollars?
Yes. Your card or bank converts the amount for you. We receive the gift in New Zealand dollars.
Will I get a receipt?
Yes. Online gifts get an emailed receipt straight away. For bank transfers, include the reference BUILD and your name, and email us so we can send your receipt.
