Sadaqah Jariyah knows no borders. For six years Aman Islamic Trust has served the Muslim community of Wellington, New Zealand from rented rooms. We are raising NZ$1.5 million to buy a permanent masjid and Islamic centre, and we welcome support from Muslims across North America.

Why a masjid in Wellington needs your help
Our Sunday lectures, Quran classes, youth programmes, Ramadan iftars and Eid prayers all happen in rented rooms that are often full to the walls. A permanent home would give Muslims in New Zealand's capital a lasting place for the five daily prayers and for the next generation. Every gift, large or small, goes to the building fund.
Time difference
New Zealand is 16 to 18 hours ahead of New York and Toronto, and 19 to 21 hours ahead of Los Angeles and Vancouver. Your evening is our next afternoon. If you call us, please allow for this, or simply email admin@amanislamictrust.com.
Tax
In the US, tax deductions generally require a gift to a US 501(c)(3) charity, and in Canada to a qualified donee, so a gift to a New Zealand charity usually cannot be claimed. Please check with your tax adviser.
Questions from donors in the USA and Canada
Is my gift tax-deductible in the US or Canada?
Usually not, because Aman Islamic Trust is registered in New Zealand. Your gift still goes in full to the building fund.
How long does a wire take?
International wires from North America usually arrive within two to five business days.
Will I get a receipt?
Yes. Online gifts get an emailed receipt straight away. For wires, include the reference BUILD and your name, and email us so we can send your receipt.
