Muslims across Britain support masjid projects far from home as Sadaqah Jariyah. For six years Aman Islamic Trust has served Wellington, New Zealand from rented rooms. We are raising NZ$1.5 million to buy a permanent masjid and Islamic centre, and your support from the UK would mean a great deal to our community.

Giving from the UK
- Give online by card below. The form charges in New Zealand dollars and your bank converts it to pounds; some cards add a foreign transaction fee.
- For a bank transfer, choose an international payment to New Zealand and use the SWIFT code KIWINZ22.
- If your bank asks for a sort code, use the first six digits of our New Zealand account number. If it asks for an IBAN, enter the full account number, as New Zealand does not use IBANs.
- Online money transfer services are often cheaper than a bank wire from the UK.
Why a masjid in Wellington needs your help
Our Sunday lectures, Quran classes, youth programmes, Ramadan iftars and Eid prayers all happen in rented rooms that are often full to the walls. A permanent home would give Muslims in New Zealand's capital a lasting place for the five daily prayers and for the next generation. Every gift, large or small, goes to the building fund.
Time difference
New Zealand is 11 to 13 hours ahead of the UK, depending on the time of year. Morning in London is late evening in Wellington. If you call us, please allow for this, or simply email admin@amanislamictrust.com.
Tax
Gift Aid applies only to gifts to UK charities recognised by HMRC, so it cannot be added to a gift to a New Zealand charity. Please check with your tax adviser about your own situation.
Questions from donors in the UK
Can I add Gift Aid?
No. Gift Aid is only available on gifts to UK charities. Your gift still counts in full towards the building fund.
How long does a transfer from the UK take?
International payments from UK banks usually arrive within one to five business days.
Will I get a receipt?
Yes. Online gifts get an emailed receipt straight away. For bank transfers, include the reference BUILD and your name, and email us so we can send your receipt.
